Isn’t this the loveliest 1940’s swimsuit pattern from Simplicity? If you’re looking for a true pin-up style vintage bathing suit sewing pattern, this one is for you! “Shoulder straps are optional on the princess-line bathing suit. If straps are omitted feather boning is used and a notched effect is achieved at the upper edge by leaving a one inch opening at the center seam. The trunks and lining are cut in one. Elastic bands the lower edges of the trunks. A separate four-gored skirt which may be worn over the bathing suit has a waistband fastened at the center back with a button. Style 2 features a dart-fitted bolero with extended shoulders.”
