We love jean jackets, but you don’t have to use denim with this awesome western-style Simplicity sewing pattern: “chino, poplin, canvas, sheeting, gabardine, light and mid-weight denim” all work. In fact, you’ll probably want to make more than one! “Jacket with front button or snap closing has side front and back seaming, yokes, lower band, collar, slightly extended shoulders and long sleeves with buttoned cuffs (wrong side of fabric shows when sleeves are rolled up). V. 1 has pockets in side front seams. V. 2 with back tabs and patch pockets with buttoned flaps can be trimmed with studs or embellished as you prefer.”
